Se inició en el teatro siendo una niña y, con trece años, en la gran pantalla.
Morena, con ojos muy claros, espontánea y encantadora, fue una estrella a lo largo de los años veinte, pero desapareció al igual que tantos otros con la llegada del cine sonoro.
Muestra de su talento fueron
Rouged Lips (Harold Shaw, 1923) y
Merton of the Movies (J. Cruze, 1924).
Viola Dana falleció el 3 de julio de 1987 en
Woodland Hills, California.
