John Carradine

Actor estadounidense



Nació el 5 de febrero de 1906 en Greenwich Village, Nueva York.

Criado en el seno de una familia burguesa y culta.

Sus inicios fueron en el mundo del teatro trabajó primero bajo el nombre de John Peter Richmond.

En la gran pantalla trabajó en Cleopatra (Cecil B. De Mille, 1934) y sobre todo junto a John Ford: Prisionero del odio (1936), María Estuardo (id.), La diligencia (1939), Corazones indomables (id.), Las uvas de la ira (1940), El último hurra (1958), El hombre que mató a Liberty Valance (1962) y El gran combate (1964).

Realizó más de 225 películas.

Contrajo matrimonio en 1935 con Ardanelle McCool, madre de Bruce y David; se divorciaron en 1941. Después se casó con Sonia Sorel, madre de los también actores Keith Carradine y Robert y de la que se divorciaría en 1956. Sus otras dos esposas fueron Doris Rich (1957-1971) y Emily Cisneros (1975-1988).

John Carradine falleció el 27 de noviembre de 1988 en Milán, Italia.
