Antonio Garrido Monteagudo

Actor y realizador español



Nació el 26 de septiembre de 1887 en Madrid.

Actor de formación teatral.

Se trasladó a Hollywood en 1912 donde interpretó desde entonces más de treinta películas mudas, con actrices como Greta Garbo, Gloria Swanson, Pola Negri, Bebe Daniels y Marion Davies.

Entre los títulos más importantes se encuentran: Mare Nostrum (R. Ingram, 1926) y Ello (It, C. Badger, id., junto a Clara Bow).

Con la aparición del cine sonoro, pasa a la puesta en escena y rueda Santa (1931), primer largometraje sonoro mexicano. Aún en México, realiza Águilas frente al sol (1932) y regresa a España para actuar en María de la O (F. Elias, 1936), donde habla con acento norteamericano.

Antonio Moreno falleció el 15 de febrero de 1967 en Los Angeles, California.
