Clifford Parker Robertson III
Actor estadounidense
Cliff Robertson nació el 9 de septiembre de 1923 en La Jolla, California.
Se inició en el mundo del teatro y debutó en la gran pantalla en 1943 con We've Never Been Licked, aunque fue su siguiente película, Picnic (1955), en la que consiguió destacar.
Fue elegido por el presidente John F. Kennedy para representarlo en sus memorias de la guerra, PT 109 (1963). Su trabajo encarnando a un discapacitado mental en Charly (1968), basada en la historia corta Flowers for Algernon, tuvo su recompensa con un Oscar al mejor actor.
Además, destacan entre su numerosa filmografía The Three Days of the Condor, con Faye Dunaway y Robert Redford, Escape from L.A. y Renaissance Man junto a Danny DeVito. Para televisión trabajó en series como Batman, The Twilight Zone y películas como Days of Wine and Roses (1958) y Dead Reckoning (1990).
Contrajo matrimonio con la actriz Dina Merrill en 1966.
Cliff Robertson, ganador del «Oscar» por su interpretación de un discapacitado mental en el filme «Charly» y por interpretar al «Tío Ben» en la trilogía de «Spiderman», murió a los 88 años el sábado 10 de septiembre de 2011, en Nueva York.
