Actor irlandés



Nació el 11 de junio de 1919 en Dublin (Irlanda).

Pasó sus primeros años de vida en la India, donde su padre trabajó como físico para el ejército.

Muy pronto fue contratado por la Fox para For them That Trespass (A. Cavalcanti, 1949), y Alma en tinieblas (The Hasty Heart, V. Sherman).

En el año 1950, Alfred Hitchcock le eligió para representar el papel del perverso asesino de Pánico en la escena. En su filmografía aparecen sus preferencias por las películas de aventura o de guerra: Los arqueros del rey (The Story of Robin Hood, K. Annakin, 1952), The Dam Busters (M. Anderson, 1954), El favorito de la reina (The Virgin Queen, H. Koster, 1955), Yangtse Incident/Battle Hell (M. Anderson 1957), Saint Joan (Otto Preminger, id.), The long and the Short and the Tall/ Jungle Fighters (Leslie Norman, 1961), Operación Crossbow (Anderson 1965), Refugio macabro (R. W. Baker, 1972).

Richard Todd falleció el 3 de diciembre de 2009 en Little Humby, Lincolnshire, Inglaterra.
