César Romero
Cesar Julio Romero Jr.

Actor estadounidense



Nació el 15 de febrero de 1907 en Nueva York.

Su familia se dedicó a la importación de azúcar y se arruinó en el Crack del 29.

Sus inicios fueron como bailarín, destacó en Broadway en The Street Singer y Dinner at Eight, y en Hollywood aparece en La cena de los acusados (W. S. Van Dyke, 1934).

En el año 1935 es contratado por la Fox, para interpretar papeles de seductores latinos y gángsters.

Trabajó varias comedias junto a Shirley Temple (The Little Princess, W. Lang, 1939), Sonja Henie (Happy Landing, R. Del Ruth 1938) y Betty Grable (Coney Island, W. Lang, 1943) es el protagonista de la serie Cisco Kid y hace su aparición más destacada en (The Devil Is a Woman, Josef von Sternberg, 1935).

Trabaja en Veracruz (Robert Aldrich, 1954), La vuelta al mundo en 80 días (M. Anderson, 1956), La taberna del irlandés (John Ford, 1963) y Skidoo (Otto Preminger, 1968).


Trabajó como modelo masculino de alta costura para revistas de renombre.

Se le atribuyeron romances femeninos pero no se casó y se le reconoció su homosexualidad en círculos íntimos.

César Romero falleció el 2 de enero de 1994 en Santa Monica, California.
