Debutó en televisión con The Memoirs of Sherlock Holmestuvo (1994). Participó después, entre otras, en Macbeth (1998), Jack of Hearts (1999), The Bill (1999–2005),Doctors (2002–2010), CSI: Miami (2007–2008), Line of Duty (2014), Doctor Who (2020) y House of the Dragon, precuela de Juego de Tronos (2011-2019) y basada en la novela de George R. R. Martin, Fire & Blood, (2018). La serie se desarrolla doscientos años antes de Juego de Tronos. La primera temporada comenzó a rodarse en abril de 2021 y se presenta en 2022 con diez episodios.

Cine

Para el cine su primer trabajo fue en ID (1995), en el mismo año en que estrenó Judge Dredd, película de ciencia ficción protagonizada por Sylvester Stallone.En 2005 aparece en Shooting Dogs, filme basado basa en las experiencias del productor de noticias de la BBC David Belton, quien trabajó en Ruanda durante el genocidio. La película se filmó en la ubicación original. Después trabaja en Broken Lines (2008), Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time (2010) y Red, White and Blue (2020).
